HISTORY:
Diedrich was born into the lovely city of San Diego by the two most un-German German people you could ever hope to meet (other than their names), Adolphus and Batilda Hagan. These two had lived in Michigan and fell in love through their shared hatred of their parent's orthodox ways while still in high school. The moment they graduated they took off west and got married in the first church they found when they got into California, and it was quickly after that that Diedrich was born.
Ironically, he revolted against his parents for being way too hippie-like, and in his older age reflected on how stupid he was for that. But he hated San Diego and he hated the whole idea of California.
When he was fifteen he entered a short piece he'd created into an independent film contest. His entry finished absolutely last because it was a rather terrible piece of work entered last minute cause he'd heard there was a monetary prize, but he had the opportunity to watch the actual ones, and that was his first taste of real film. But like any other teenager, he didn't pursue it and mostly forgot it.
When he turned eighteen he decided to revolt against his own parents and move back to Michigan, live with his grandparents, and go into law school. (There is nothing that would anger a hippie more than their son becoming a lawyer.) This was when he began to respect his parents, because he realized he actually hated his grandparents and he wasn't that fond of the whole lawyer thing. So he quit lawyer school after two years, and took only one thing with him from the experience: a really hot girl.
In Michigan was where he had met Kirsten, a tall blonde athletic Swedish beauty who seemed to have no flaws. He was head over heels in love with her, and convinced her to move back to California with him, where he hoped to become a screenwriter.
But back in California, they began to have problems, because he simply couldn't find work. Hollywood was a hard place to live and extremely competitive. Not only that, Diedirch realized he didn't really like screenwriting and he hated the whole movie business of Hollywood. Every movie there followed a simple plot with appropriate calculations of sex and violence thrown it. It stifled his creativity and frustrated him to no end.
In a terrible lunge to try and save their relationship, he and Kirsten got married, hoping stability in at least that would save them, but things took a turn for the worst when Diedrich got bitten and became a werewolf. She suffered horribly from this and believed him to be insane. After a year of trying to make this work, they divorced.
Free of everything that tied him to either California and Michigan, Diedrich went into film school where he earned his bachelor's degree, and realized that he didn't want to write movies. He wanted to do what had driven him towards film in the first place: independent films. There wouldn't be much opportunity for avant garde in Los Angeles, so he moved to New York, where he successfully created a few films, and eventually found a job as a teacher of film as he still struggles with but begins to embrace being a werewolf.
PERSONALITY:
Diedrich is a strange mesh of personality traits, given his love-hate relationship with both orthodox behavior and un-orthodox behavior. He believes strongly in sitting quietly at home with a cup of tea and a good book and yoga in the morning, but he also is a bubbling pot of creativity which he unleashes with his students. He's very much a non-violent, talk-it-out sort of guy, and doesn't really like to be involved in any sort of conflict. He holds his alone time to great value and doesn't appreciate it being taken away from him. That said, he can be a bit crazy, and when it comes to film, things offensive material is the best.

1. Contradictory: He never thinks too hard about saying something before he actually says it, so he ends up contradicting himself on almost everything he says. And he has quite a contradictory personality also.

3. Weak/Scaredy cat: This guy has never cared about being strong and has a rather doughy physique. He will run at the slightest sign of violence. (unless it's on set)

Although they didn't get along when they were younger, they're fine now.
