HISTORY:
MODIFIED HISTORY:From a young age she would have dreams, disconnected visions of people dying, or fires starting or that sort of thing—that would turn out to be correct. At first her parents wrote them off as nightmares, and so did Claire, but when she was able to tell her mother the shirt and hair color of a woman who was going to get hit by a train the day before it happened, they started to think something was up. They wrote it off however, as a spiritual prompting, since Claire no longer told her parents she saw things in dreams but just that she had visions or general feelings. Claire herself also believes that they are visions from God, she believes it is special gift he was given her but also one that she should keep quiet. They only other person she told the whole truth too was her friend, who is now dead.
ORIGINAL HISTORY:
She was born in Salt Lake City and is the youngest of four. Her dad was scoutmasters and so she grew up going camping a lot, and her love of it stuck with her throughout the rest of her life. When she was seven she got cast in a cute little church play, but loved it and begged her parents to let her continue acting. It became her life, and scarcely a moment went by that she wasn't cast in or preparing an audition for one play or another. When she was ten she started getting interested in Musical Theater as well, and though it's not as strong as her acting she's got a decent voice, and voice lessons helped a lot.
When she was thirteen her dad got a job offer to work for a computer company in Australia and decided to take it. She pretended to be excited, but like any thirteen year old she was convinced moving halfway across the globe would ruin her life.
She ended up loving it though, for a few reasons. For one, it was in Australia that she discovered the e brilliance and Shakespeare and her life-long goal or making it on the royal Shakespeare Company. She also made a best friend who shared her goal. She died of cancer when Claire was 17, and though she was devastated, it made her more determined to make it.
She was pretty young when the whole Justus(Merlyn) thing happened, and she never felt like she knew him that well since there's a thirteen year age gap. She was taught that homosexuality was wrong and so she assumed that he aunt and uncle had done the right thing, except whenever they would talk about loving your family members she would reflect on how throwing your son out of the house wasn't very loving. When she confided these feelings to her mother she found that her mother kind of agree with her, but she didn't want to critisize her brother and so Claire let the matter drop.
When she was 17 she was cast as the reporter in The Laramie Project, and it completely changed her perspective on the matter. She sometimes wishes she could find her cousin so she could show him that not all mormons are like his parents, and now it looks like she got her wish, sort of.
PERSONALITY:
She's pretty relaxed most of the time, and doesn't get riled up or offended easily. She gets a long with almost everyone she meets. She's usually sweet in caring, but in a subtle, sarcastic kind of way. Really though, she loves sarcasm, which becomes a problem when you don't like hurting peoples feelings because sometimes they take it in the wrong way.
She doesn't like feeling left out or conversations, but also hates dominating them. She needs afew people who she feels really close too, but also prefers to have a big group of friends. she tries really hard to avoid offending people, but also make herself clear, which means that she lands somewhere in the middle.
Her biggest goal in life is to avoid judging people, which is hard goal itself without being part of religion with high and specific standards. She's not a super molly Mormon, such as not watching any pg-13 movies, not drinking any caffeine, and studying her religion 24/7, but she does to adhere to it as much as possible. Since she's not vocal about being Mormon, she's not really preachy, but once people know about it the she likes talking about religion with them.
