Elise had to admit, she was impressed. So far she had found Rosencrantz to be…so-so. It was a little high- maintenance, though nothing like rehab. No place would ever be as insane as that he…place. Still though, it was a little over-the-top for her taste, but maybe she just wasn’t into that classical looking stuff. And the people here were pretty snooty, not like the high school girl snooty, more like the spoiled-rich british kid snooty, which she found kind of annoying. Honestly the way some of these people acted you’d think they’d have daily talks with angels, or at least that Shakespeare bloke. Actors, she would never understand their obsession with some 500 year old geezer who wore that weird ruffly thing around his neck. But that Dance studio was something else entirely. It was, perfect. A dancer’s dream, not like that empty room the rehab folks had called her “studio.” No, this was the real deal. She felt energized just from just being in the room. It had been too long since she’d danced, really danced, and her feet ached to move again. She began marking a pattern she’d done in recital almost a year ago, it was only when she tried a full-out illusion that she ran into trouble, or rather someone. She didn’t actually hit her, but her foot came in close proximity to her face. “Excuse me am I in your way?” her sarcasm bleeded through her mock cheery voice, she folded her arms across her chest and glared in a smirking fashion at the person she’d almost knocked out.

Dev walked into the dance stuido to practice for class. She wasn't in the mood to be messed with. She noticed there was another girl their, doing so rookie moves. Over and over? Really? How boring. But she recognized it, it was something freshmen did a lot. She smirked as she set her things down on the benches and started walking towards the bars, pass the girl. When she felt a sharp breeze pass her and notice she almost hit her. Then her comment. Who the fuck did this girl think she was? She almost slapped the girl right then and there.
She gave the girl back a equally and more sinister smirk and shook her head "Oh not at all. I don't want to stand in the way for you and your clear first grade illusions." she said simply. She shook her head at the girl as she continued to the bar near her. It was true, her form was off, and she was making the rookie mistake of keeping her leg out too far. She started stretching as she looed over at the girl "so I'm guessing your a freshmen or a are you a sixth grader who got lost?" she asked simply, a clear sence of none caring in her voice as she spoke.

Ashlyn smiled to hide her irritation. Had she asked for an opinion? And hello, she'd been marking it, which meant that she wasn't trying to be perfect. Its not like she knew anyone had been watching her, anyway. And alright, so maybe she was a little out of practice, but her and her Illusions were practically famous in the dance world.
She wanted to snap back, but years of experience told her to be careful when it came to people like this. this girl clearly had some sort of status, or at least thought she did, And Elise knew better than to piss her off when she didn't have her own groupies to back her up anymore. She had one back at the community college. Stupid school forcing her start over as a freshmen, making her the same grade as Ashlyn, ugh...
Still though, she had to let this person know she wasn't some little cowering puppy. "That depends, are you always this bitchy or it is just on mondays?" Elise cocked her head in a snapping fashion, but her original malice was clearly gone. She thought of a million good ways to insult this girl but held her tongue. Man it sucked to be on the bottom...
"So are you a veteran here, or something?" She said casually, taking her own place on the bar. Give a her a chance to brag, and she'd be all over it, if Elise had her type right. Which she did. It would give Elise an in, which was what she needed. She might even play suck up later, though the thought disgusted her. Or she could go for the sob story, that worked well enough so far.

Dev just smirked at her comment and looked over at her as she pulled up her leg and got in first position, she knew that she would have fun. Little comments like this? the wrote a book about them, she lived to have people like this follow her. She shook her head and laughed slightly "No but I am a bitch. But i'm a proud bitch. I can say though, You gave it a good try with a come back." She said as she started Her dance for class, Ballet week. She hated it but it definitively worked her muscles more. She looked back at the girl and shook her head slightly "I'm Not a Veteran, I'm as close as it gets that you will ever get the privileged to talk to. Most Seniors get jobs around town in small dance crew and leave." She said as she finished her first part of her dance. "I'm Dev by the way, Bitch of the school, and who do you think you are?"

Lovely...she had competition. Elise tried to keep the smug look off her face even though he mind was screaming. Not for long you are, honey.
She smiled a little when she gave her partial credit for her response. She knew what she was going for now. Aspiring freshmen luke Skywalker ready to learn from the bitch queen, Obiwan Kenobi. It was perfect. She might even celebrate it a little later, just for her pride's sake.
She frowned a little when the girl didn't take the bait the way she'd expected. So she hadn't pegged her exactly right, but still she'd been close. Close enough to get what she wanted.
She began to follow what the rest of the class was doing. Ballet wasn't her favorite, but she tolerated more than a lot of other contemporary/hip-hop dancers did. There were few dancers who really made it big without having a sold basis in ballet, and that was where Elise needed to be.
She held back a snort. Dev? What kind of a name was that, it must be short for something, so if they were going to start with weird nicknames... "El." She didn't bother to tag on her last name since Dev hadn't either. besides, there was slim chance she knew Ashlyn and she didn't want to be linked to her loser sister quite yet. Not until she had her own reputation to work with.
"So how long have you've been going her anyway?" she added casually. She was beginning to feel more confident her her dancing as a lot of things started to come back to her, but she was still struggling just a little bit.

Dev rolled her eyes at the newbie, unimpressed by her. Was she trying to be a bitch like her? She just seemed like your average 7th grader on a period. She didn't take much notice in her after that, This girl was a nothing. "three years" she said simply as they started the second part of the dance, hearing the teacher say that the new girls should stay behind and watch first. Dev smirked and glanced at the girl before doing the next part, same old boring stuff she did for warm ups. Though one girl made the mistake of taking off with them and got confused, falling over herself. Everyone had gasp and owes for her just Dev just chuckled, getting a few glares for the poor old sweetie pies of the class. She cared why? They girl made a mistake so she was simply laughing at her pain to make her remember not to be a idiot again.
She looked back the the girl, shrugging "You might not want to be seen with me, Bad for your rep in shit." she said as she waited for everyone to finish up for the next dance. Maybe private lessons would be better, but then she could show off and tell off to bitches like her class.

Elise noticed that Dev was beginning to tune her out. She shrugged, it was like she needed to be her Friend Right this moment, she could bid her time. If there was one thing she had learned in rehab it was patience. She would get what she wanted eventually, and maybe it would turn out that she wouldn't need Dev to do it.
She gave the teacher a dark look when she told the newbies to go to the back. She wasn't "new.", but she followed the other girls to the back of the room and leaned against the back railing, looking supremely bored. her eyes darted toward Dev, looking to see if she had the moves to match the mouth. She was good, El would give her that, but she certainly wasn't unreachable. Not by a long shot.
She smirked at little when the girl fell, but every was to busy checking to see if she was alright to notice. Dev did though. El raised her eyebrows at her comment. A few of the other girls were glaring at Dev as they helped fallen girl to her feet. They looked like the snobby little good-to-shoes that had always pissed El off at studios or competitions. And she was pretty sure they'd felt the same about her.
Her gaze drifted back to Dev. "I won't be needing help with that, honey." she chuckled.

Dev just smirked at him and laughed softly "Well then, Welcome to the bitch club sweetheart." She said, mumbling with one of her killer smirks. The Whole dance class was watching her, not that she cared. She enjoyed the looks, the glares, the bitching haters. She smiled and blew the biggest bitch a kiss then flicked her off.
The teacher, whatever that bitches name was told them to take five, she just smirked and looked over at her "Well, maybe i have some good respect for you then" she said simply, watching her and laughing. Did she, the dev, just give a complement?

"Does it have an induction ceremony?" she asked with an innocent voice that was clearly mocking, but still almost made her want to puke. She meant it as a joke, but the idea was kind of entertaining. she tried to imagine what a bitchy induction would be like, and it created some rather interesting images.
The teacher told them to take five, which she supposed they were supposed to use to figure out the combination they'd just seen. She wanted to dance, but the idea of copying so weird ballet exercise wan't all that appealing. Which left Dev, who had apparently decided she wasn't a complete waste.
Elise knew better than to get too worked up over her sort of compliment, but she also knew how to take it seriously. It didn't mean that Dev really cared or was all that impressed, but girls like that didn't give out compliments.
"Just hang around and I'll give you a better reason." An interesting promise, but not one she was certain she could keep. She'd been doing alright so far, but she hadn't been the same since, since her tragic life story stuff and she wasn't sure how long her good streak could last.

Dev just smirked, getting a evil idea "Yes, but that comes later." She said, walking over to her bag as people started going to the common room, she just grabbed a water bottle and took a sip, looking back at el and rolled her eyes "Listen Ely or whatever, you might as well just go hop down the yellow brick road and find you a senior to follow like shes a prize, cause I don't have time for a 'better reason' You get one shot with me." She said as she went back to the bars, doing though a few of the steps by herself. "But if you want to impress me, which im sure you do, no need, Its clear out of the other fishes your the strongest." She said, going into a jump spin then looking back at her "And you better feel god damn honored im saying that. I don't do nice."

It seemed she had gotten what she wanted, sort of. Dev wasn't exactly thrilled with her, but she supposed if she had been after only that she would be easy and not worth El's time. Still though, it felt weird, being on this side.
"Gotcha." She muttered distractedly, then realizing this probably wouldn't be the best way to respond amended; "I do." She tried to focus a little more on dancing, but ballet wasn't the greatest outlet for all the fierce energy building up inside her. But she didn't allow herself to slack off, like she wanted too. Instead she made sure to hit every extension, every point, every little detail she could possibly hit. She felt herself getting better as time went along, until she barely even had to think about it any more.
She was almost dissapointed when class ended, she felt like she was just getting started. But she had other things to worry about.
"So bitch queen, where are you of to next?" She said as they stretched. She hadn't meant to ignore her, it had just become to hard to focus on both things. But it was probably for the best, she didn't want Dev to get sick of her yet.

Dev just kept her dancing up, not bothering to respond to the younger girl. This was so boring to her. Ballet was a 4 to 10 year old dance. Any one who went pro into ballet were twig people with that 'I'm so innocent look'. That wasn't her. She was move into fast beat moments. Free style, Tango, Salsa, anything. But ballet, waltz, She would rather DIE.
Class thankfully passed fasy, but when she was grabbing her things she didn't expect ely to come back and ask here where she was going. She just grabbed her bag and looked at her funny for a minute before answer. "Well i'm Going to get a coffee then probably do some real dancing at my apartment.." She said, unsure why she would want to know. Unless.."Want to come with?" She asked, giving her a non-caring voice. She didn't actually mind this girl, better then the other twigy, childish, strict girls she had to dance with. Maybe she could be her personal groupie, plus she quiet enjoyed being called bitch queen. No other girls had the guts to say it to her face. She just gave the girl a small smirk but grew quickly impatient. "Well?"

El kept herself from looking to please that Dev hadn't just blown her off, which she could have done. That and she still wasn't sure sure she wanted what she wanted, or something.
She snorted, "After a class like this? Are you kidding me?" She slipped her pirouette shoes off while she said, "Where do you live anyway?" Obviously she lived in New York somewhere, but it was a big place. She hoped her apartment wasn't some tiny one-bedroom thing. Her mother's place would probably be better, but that would probably destroy any respect Dev might have had for her, no, it would destroy any respect she might have had. She could mention the whole house arrest thing, but they she would have to explain why she was on house arrest. She wasn't doing that. Not yet, and maybe not ever. If people found out she was a former junkie then she'd be forever treated like one, regardless of what she may or may not take.
"Where were you thinking of going?" She wasn't as familiar with this part of the city, and hopefully Dev wasn't planning on somewhere lame.

"I have a loft above a Starbucks, it's a couple blocks from here." dev said as she picked up her bag, keeping her bag on her shoulder. She didn't know why she wanted to know. Did she think she was poor? Did she give off a poor vibe? Wow. She didn't think anyone could think that she gave up like that. Oh ya, she was a freshmen. She didnt know anything about her 200,000 dollar car she had. She just started walking away, letting her mind race. Did this girl think she could just win against her. She lived for moments like this. When she could show off, when she could prove just how much her worth was to someone, it showed her power. She lived for her control. That's what she did, she lived to show power and it struck fear in people around her.
She looked Back at the girl one she made it to the door and raised her eyebrow at the freshie. "Well. You coming or not? Cause I have a strong need for a carmel coffee cake and green tea." she said simply, showing a slight, slight smirk. She liked this girl kinda. She provided her with, intrest. She could honestly say she wondered what this girl could bring to this school. She seemed like she knew what she was doing yet, she Was still a newbie, and had lots to learn.

Above a starbucks? That actually sounded, kind of cool. Plus Dev didn't have tha air of someone who went without...anything. So if she wanted to dance at her apartment then it was probably a good place to be.
She was bent over gathering up the last of her things when Dev called back. She straightened, slinging her bag over her shoulder. "Yep, " she said as she set off after Dev. She didn't dawdle, but she made sure not to walk to fast either. She'd had a friend that would come when she called like a dog, and while it was entertaing, it was also pretty pathetic. She figured she was probably supposed to ride with Dev, which was good since she didn't have a car anymore as wasn't technically allowed to drive. She had to use public transport 24/7. Though maybe Dev was one of those smart people who didn't use a car in New York because of traficc blah blah blah...you never knew. Maybe she should ask.
"so, are you driving, or are we going to be the cliched new yokers?" she said as she caught and excited the dance studio.
