HISTORY:
History edits: His mom had him as teenager and dropped out of school. A couple of years later she married his father.
He remembers his childhood like a pleasant dream, and dream that ended when his dad died after having a heart attack. He sees that as the moment when he stopped being a child.
His mother worked odd jobs to support the family but their were times when they went without a lot of things and a couple of times when they almost lost their home. For a while Wesley's income had to be used to support them. His mother remarried three times, but none of these marriages worked out. This constant changing of father figures and that fact that none of them were all that great meant that Wesley ended up filling that role for his siblings, which is why he's so protective of them.
When he was 16 his best friend was killed by a drunk driver. Since then he's always kind of opposed any kind of alcohol. He'd been interested in art for a while but after this he started to get really serious about it. He wasn't planning on studying it in school but when his mother's new restaurant business looked like it might actually work he started to consider it. He spent one year at the community college. Some talent scout saw his work and offered him a scholarship to Rosencrantz. He wouldn't have considered it, partly because he still couldn't afford it. When a couple of people who liked his work offered to sponsor him, he decided to go. At that point his mother's business was flourishing, otherwise he wouldn't have been able to leave his siblings.
PERSONALITY:
He's one of those guys who gets along with almost everyone. He's funny,but not in a demeaning way. The only person he'd ever make fun is himself. he's usually pretty laid back, but he can also be kind intense if the situation calls for it.
He's really protective of his younger siblings, especially since they've never had a strong father figure since their dad passed away. He's always there for you when you need him. He doesn't criticize, but he does usually try to give you advice in his strange, vague way.
He's also super creative, and always trying to find a unique way to get things done. He doesn't believe in perfection, and he thinks some artists become so focused on these unattainable reality that they forget that art is really about expression, for which there is no perfect form. It's from that that he gets the desire to redefine what people think of as "right" or even. "art".
